Sri Lanka all-rounder Thisara Perera has joined the Sri Lanka Military as a Main. The 30-year-old cricketer confirmed the information through Twitter and mentioned that he accepted an invite of Military Commander Lieutenant Common Shavendra Silva. “I accepted the invitation of Military Commander Lieutenant Common Shavendra Silva within the first place & joined the Military. Getting an invite from somebody like him was one of many largest achievements of my life. Thanks Sir! I sit up for contributing my greatest to Military Cricket,” Perera had tweeted on Monday.

In keeping with a report in Colombo Gazette, Perera has been enlisted to the Sri Lanka Military Volunteer Pressure as a Main within the Gajaba Regiment.

Former captain Dinesh Chandimal had additionally joined the Sri Lanka Military Volunteer Pressure earlier this 12 months to play for the Military cricket workforce.

The 30-year-old has represented Sri Lanka in six Exams, 161 ODIs and 79 T20Is by which he has scored 203, 2210 and 1169 runs respectively. In addition to, he has taken 11, 171 and 51 wickets within the three codecs.

Sri Lanka are scheduled to play a three-match T20I sequence in India starting January 5 in Guwahati.
