Indian-American Preston Kulkarni Wins Texas House Democratic Primary

Sri Preston Kulkarni secured 53.1 % of the entire votes polled.


Indian-American Sri Preston Kulkarni has secured a simple victory within the Democratic main for Texas’ 22nd Congressional District and can run within the November election towards the Republican candidate.

Mr Kulkarni, 40, a former diplomat who served in Iraq, Russia, Israel and Taiwan, defeated former Pearland metropolis council member Derrick Reed and lawyer Nyanza Davis Moore within the occasion election on Tuesday, The Hill reported.

Whereas Mr Kulkarni scored 53.1 per cent of the entire votes polled, Reed bagged 24.7 per cent and Moore 14.5 per cent.

Simply after his win, Preston Kulkarni thanked the voters and tweeted, “We could not have gotten right here with out your assist and your assist.”

Mr Kulkarni is the son of an Indian novelist and educational who immigrated to America in 1969 and a white mom.
